Direction thresholds
LONG if S ≥ +0.22 SHORT if S ≤ −0.22 else NONE
Why 0.22: the strongest single family (Trend at 0.45 weight, position timeframe) maxes out at 0.45 contribution — but real readings rarely max out, and any dissent subtracts. At 0.22 the engine needs either one strong family plus agreement elsewhere, or broad moderate agreement. A lone bullish indicator in an otherwise flat tape cannot trigger. The threshold is symmetric: the engine has no long bias.
